Optic Neuritis

With individuals with Optic Neuritis this involves an inflammation of the optic nerve which is the bundle nerve fibers that transmits visual information from your eye to your brain. There will be pain and temporary vision loss associated with this and common symptoms of optic neuritis.

Optic neuritis is highly associated with multiple sclerosis, a disease that may cause inflammation and damage to nerves in your brain and spinal cord. In some people the symptoms and signs of optic neuritis may be the first indication of MS.

In most people who have a single episode of optic neuritis may recover their vision. This is all more important to have an eye exam at least once a year. Please contact your local Palm Beach Eye Center and schedule an appointment if you have any symptoms.
