Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis or widely known as simply MS is a disease where ones immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) that covers the nerves. Myelin damage disturbs communication between your brain and the rest of your body.

The signs and symptoms can vary widely depending on the damage and which nerves have been affected. There are some with MS that lose the ability to walk and others experience long periods of remission during which they develop no new symptoms.

There is no cure for MS. However treatments can help speed recovery from attacks or modify the course of the disease.
